"I truly believe Iron Tribe has changed my life, has changed so many others’ lives, and I love bringing new coaches into the group to share with them what makes Iron Tribe different."
Years and years of gymnastics training, then transitioning from athlete to coach, I knew early on that I wanted to be involved in some way with sports and athletics. I can remember in high school going to Walmart and buying “8 minute abs” and all the pilates videos and doing this for “fun!” I loved coaching young girls in competitive gymnastics — not only the physical training, but also the mental and emotional aspects and being able to mentor and motivate positive goal setting habits and instilling self confidence.
I walked in Iron Tribe Homewood in September 2010 for the first time, and I instantly fell in love! Adults swinging from the pull-up bar and doing handstands…sign me up!
I joined on the spot.
I struggled through 101 (my goal was to NOT walk on the 200m run) — and I knew I had to “prove myself” if I wanted to actually be an instructor! I’m pretty sure I worked out 5 days a week (even though I only signed up for 3 days in my membership). I just couldn’t stay away!
I knew I wanted to work for Iron Tribe even before I joined. But I had to convince MYSELF I had what it took to actually raise my hand to say I was interested in joining the team.
I am very thankful to be on the Iron Tribe team, as I have transitioned a few times to accommodate for my newer role as a Mom. After years of coaching at the Mothership in the morning, I now wear a few hats that don’t involve the 5 am gym call 😉 I recruit and interview new coaches for the Birmingham gyms.
I do all the education and training (it’s a three-week process!) for our Birmingham ITF Coach hires, as well as for franchise gyms that choose to send their coaches to Birmingham for training.
I work with all the Birmingham coaches to ensure they are delivering the Class Experience in regards to their Structure, Coaching and Community Building by doing regular coach evaluations. I am also involved in the event planning process, as well as the day of leading of the team/event.
