Coach for 5 years, now owns ITF Baton Rouge
"There is not enough room for me to share what I have learned and how I have positively been impacted by working at Iron Tribe.

All of it, while challenging, has been way more than I could have ever hoped for.

It has given me such a great platform to love others, my team, our members, and everyone else involved. It has helped me develop a great deal of responsibility and leadership that I am unsure I could have acquired anywhere else."
What it's like to be part of the Iron Tribe Fitness coaching team
Imagine waking up each day as a fitness professional and getting to do the thing you love. Now imagine you get to do that in the best facilities around, coaching the best clients, with world-class support and ongoing personal development. This is just a tiny fraction of what it's like to work for Iron Tribe, and this type of environment is non-existent in the fitness industry today outside of our gym walls.

Saying yes to coaching at Iron Tribe Fitness is saying yes to an encouraging community, personal accountability, and leadership training that will impact you for the rest of your life. The community of athletes that you are asked to coach, push, encourage, and help succeed in their goals will become some of the closest people in your life.

As a coach at Iron Tribe Fitness, you will be a catalyst for life change in the lives of the athletes you coach and will come to realize that the process also changes your life just as much as your athletes.
Our coaches get support, ongoing training, and personal leadership development from a team that is unmatched in the fitness industry.
You'll be challenged to grow yourself just as much as the athletes you coach each day. Many of the coaches on our team who started right where you are today are now staples in their communities.
We have some of the best clients, without question. Iron Tribe is about changing lives through fitness. If you are someone who truly believes they are called to have a profoundly positive impact on others, Iron Tribe is the place for you. We won't lie and say it will always be easy. In fact, there's a certain X factor you need to make it on our team. For those who do, this is guaranteed to be the most rewarding fitness opportunity you'll find.
As an Iron Tribe coach it's not unusual for you to be on of the constants, an anchor in peoples' lives. For many people, especially in the current environment, you are a big part of what gets people started in the morning or what they look forward to in the evening. This requires coaches who are empathetic to the challenges people face while at the same time pushing to get the most out of their athletes.

If the ideology "we develop ourselves to help others realize their full potential" speaks to you, you've come to the right place. Hit the button to apply. We can't wait to meet you!
It is always our greatest hope to spark positive change and ambition in all those who walk through our gym doors — even our coaches. Read Hayden's story to find out exactly what it's like to grow with Iron Tribe Fitness.

From Coach to Franchise Owner: Hayden's Story.

“I was first introduced to Iron Tribe while I was completing my undergraduate (degree) at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I had honestly not heard of Iron Tribe, but what I did know is that they were currently hiring for a coaching position and that it appeared to be a company that aligned with my personal values as well as background as a fitness coach. While the interview process was certainly affirming that they were not just going to select anyone to be a coach, it was also quite suspenseful for me being that I was newly married and needed the job. Ultimately, the owners of Iron Tribe NOLA decided to take a chance and hire me.

"Pretty early on, as in the interview process, I decided that owning or at least managing an Iron Tribe was the end goal."

In fact, before (I was offered) the coaching position, over lunch (the owner) asked me, ‘What is your 5-Year BHAG with Iron Tribe?’ I replied, ‘What the heck is a BHAG?’ To which they explained, ‘it is your Big Hairy Audacious Goal, something that scares you a little accomplish, challenges you, and pushes you to continue to grow.’

I told him my BHAG would be to open my own Iron Tribe in my hometown of Baton Rouge in 5 years – if I had their blessing, of course.

Fast forward to a year after I had become a coach. I was sitting in my glorified dorm room with Jenee, my wife, and a phone call came in from Jim Cavale the then-president of Iron Tribe. He had just met with Kerry and Kate (New Orleans gym owners) at the Iron Tribe HQ office in Birmingham. I had been brought up in their meeting because of how I would be moving back to Baton Rouge in the coming months.

Turns out they had given Jim the blessing to ask me if I would be interested in opening an Iron Tribe in Baton Rouge. This phone call was the start of what at the time seemed to be a tough decision. I remember getting off of the phone with Jim and sitting with Jenee thinking to myself and out loud what it would be like to open an Iron Tribe – it seemed like wishful thinking at the time.

We decided to pursue the opportunity until the door got shut. This eventually led us to fully believing opening an Iron Tribe was exactly what God was calling us to do. I had decided to turn down the idea of law school and biblical translation for the hope of creating, loving and fostering a thriving fitness community.

Iron Tribe in Baton Rouge has now been opened for 3.5 years. There is not enough room for me to share what I have learned and how I have positively been impacted by opening an Iron Tribe…

All of it, while challenging, has been way more than I could have ever hoped for. It has given me such a great platform to love others, my team, our members, and everyone else involved. It has helped me develop a great deal of responsibility and leadership that I am unsure I could have acquired anywhere else. I have many people to be thankful for in having the opportunity to run an Iron Tribe and hopefully more locations in the future.

Here's what a few of our team members have to say about their role at Iron Tribe Fitness.

Coaching at Iron Tribe is more than just showing up.

As a coach at Iron Tribe Fitness, you have the opportunity and the expectation to continue to develop yourself under leading professionals in the fitness industry.

Beyond the obvious fundamentals of constantly developing techniques to serve anyone who walks through our doors, you'll be developed as a leader and gain skills that you will carry throughout your life. Many of our coaches go on to manage or own gyms in the Iron Tribe family.

Every coach starts with our 101, where they learn the fundamentals of how we create a consistent and excellent experience at every Iron Tribe Fitness across the country.

After 6-12 months of proving yourself as a coach, you'll enter our 201 experience and have an unforgettable weekend that will reignite your fire and passion for the athletes you serve.

We focus on truly drawing out the best coach you can be to take the idea of a consistent, excellent experience for our athletes to the next level. You'll walk away from our 201 weekend with new tools and empowerment to bring so much more to the athletes you coach.

Many of our best coaches start as athletes in our gyms. Read Jessica's story to learn about her journey from athlete to coach to now recruiting and training our top talent.

Jessica Parks, Master of Structure, Coaching, and Community Building

Jessica first came on board at Iron Tribe Fitness as a member. After being hired as a coach, it quickly became obvious that Jessica’s acumen for helping members master movements was great. Today, Jessica works closely with the corporate team to ensure coaching remains consistent. Her attention to detail and passion for Iron Tribe is strong — and we feel lucky to have her on our team! Here’s how Jessica has grown to become a pivotal leader within Iron Tribe.

"I truly believe Iron Tribe has changed my life, has changed so many others’ lives, and I love bringing new coaches into the group to share with them what makes Iron Tribe different."

Years and years of gymnastics training, then transitioning from athlete to coach, I knew early on that I wanted to be involved in some way with sports and athletics. I can remember in high school going to Walmart and buying “8 minute abs” and all the pilates videos and doing this for “fun!” I loved coaching young girls in competitive gymnastics — not only the physical training, but also the mental and emotional aspects and being able to mentor and motivate positive goal setting habits and instilling self confidence.

I walked in Iron Tribe Homewood in September 2010 for the first time, and I instantly fell in love! Adults swinging from the pull-up bar and doing handstands…sign me up!

I joined on the spot.

I struggled through 101 (my goal was to NOT walk on the 200m run) — and I knew I had to “prove myself” if I wanted to actually be an instructor! I’m pretty sure I worked out 5 days a week (even though I only signed up for 3 days in my membership). I just couldn’t stay away!

I knew I wanted to work for Iron Tribe even before I joined. But I had to convince MYSELF I had what it took to actually raise my hand to say I was interested in joining the team.

I am very thankful to be on the Iron Tribe team, as I have transitioned a few times to accommodate for my newer role as a Mom. After years of coaching at the Mothership in the morning, I now wear a few hats that don’t involve the 5 am gym call 😉 I recruit and interview new coaches for the Birmingham gyms.

I do all the education and training (it’s a three-week process!) for our Birmingham ITF Coach hires, as well as for franchise gyms that choose to send their coaches to Birmingham for training.

I work with all the Birmingham coaches to ensure they are delivering the Class Experience in regards to their Structure, Coaching and Community Building by doing regular coach evaluations. I am also involved in the event planning process, as well as the day of leading of the team/event.

"The most rewarding thing is seeing a coach on day 1 of training, then being able to see them a couple months down the road in their gym leading class and seeing their passion for our people and the brand grow. It’s truly a great job!"

If you're still reading and all of this has you excited to serve others by changing their lives through fitness, we want you. It's time for you to choose to take control of your work life and join a team that wants to develop you to be the best you can be. We would love to have a conversation. Hit the button and we'll look forward to meeting you!
